I propose we build, on reasonably stable
California desert, an earthquake resistant, black, dimpled, ten
mile in diameter dome; its outer
surfaces engraved with the names, dates
of birth and death, and citizenship, of the fatalities
of the AIDS epidemic, chronologically
arranged by instance of death from the base
clock-wise spiralling upward::::the inscriptions
sized and spaced so as to allow room for every
name of every person on Earth; this dimpled, black, engraved
material being seamless solar paneling, and
within the monument a solar power plant
capable of delivering continuous electricity endlessly
to the four corners of the world, with a
super conductor-collider built underground around
its base. The massive project would be undertaken
with a sense of urgency, and be completed by 2010.
